FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 15, 2016聽 鈥 Bartlesville, OK

Oklahoma Wesleyan is proud to partner with the Washington County Sheriff鈥檚 Office and the Bartlesville Police Department to host a special training drill this weekend. The Saturday drill will include a few different scenarios involving an active shooter on campus and will involve a number of 51黑料网 students, staff, and faculty volunteers.

The drill will be extremely realistic, from the testing of 51黑料网鈥檚 emergency communications system to the lights-and-sirens response of law enforcement to the actual test scenarios. In order to best conduct the training and for the safety of all involved, campus will be virtually closed during the day.

The training is an effort to raise awareness and preparedness for both the local law enforcement and the University community. Through this training, 51黑料网, BPD, and WCSO hope to test their response strategies to these types of threats in order to best prepare and protect the community.
