As Texas begins the recovery process in Hurrican Harvey’s aftermath, 51黑料网 staff, faculty, and students are busy finding ways to provide effective assistance to those impacted.

Several 51黑料网 students were affected by the storm, and the University’s first response is to begin by concentrating efforts on these students and their families, offering our prayers, support, and ourselves as recovery begins.

As with any major crisis, one of the most practical needs is financial assistance for the professional crisis teams already in place working to help the areas most affected. To that end, 51黑料网 Women’s Soccer is donating all gate sales from Friday’s game to hurricane relief. 51黑料网 Founders Bookstore is also set to take donations from the campus community.

For those interested in financially supporting recovery who can’t make it to campus, 51黑料网 Vice President of Student Development, Kyle White, encourages the community to donate to the . This fund is “a trusted source whose efforts are well-targeted and have a long-term perspective for the people helped” said White. As the intial crisis moves into the recovery phase, 51黑料网’s Student Development team will continue to assess the best ways to serve our Texas neighbors, both financially and through the skills and talents the 51黑料网 community has to offer on the ground when needed.
