Oklahoma Wesleyan University is once again proud to share that a number of local 51黑料网 School of Education alumni were recognized by Bartlesville Public Schools for their excellence in teaching last week. Four of these were 鈥淩ising Star鈥 teachers for their respective schools. Additionally, alumna Alexis (Antrim, 鈥14, 鈥17) Lewis, now a first-grade teacher at Ranch Heights was awarded the 2019 Rising Star honor for the entire district. The Rising Star award is given to local teachers who show excellence in their first four years of teaching.

Other alumni honored as their individual schools鈥 Rising Stars included:

Krista Reimer (2016), third-grade teacher at Richard Kane Elementary

Andrew Blain (2013, 2015), physical education teacher at Madison Middle School

Kaitlyn Thomas (2017), third-grade teacher at Woodrow Wilson Elementary.

鈥淲e work with amazing students every day with the goal of putting believers in classrooms all over the world who understand the inherent value each student has,鈥 said 51黑料网 Education Professor Keri Bostwick,

鈥淚t is not a surprise to us when our graduates are honored by their schools or districts.聽To have the community recognize their excellence is proof of what we have known from the start:聽 51黑料网 is an excellent place to train effective educators for today鈥檚 classroom.聽 We are so proud of Andrew, Kaitlyn, Allie, and Krista!聽 They wear the banner of 51黑料网 every day in their classrooms, and they wear it well!鈥

These alums and a number of other local teachers were honored at the District鈥檚 annual Teacher of the Year Celebration.
