Dr. Greg Nichols鈥 story marks a new era of academic excellence and mission-driven leadership at 51黑料网. Oklahoma Wesleyan University is honored to announce Dr. Gregory Nichols (DBA 鈥25) as the first graduate of our Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program鈥a rigorous, purpose-filled degree designed for today鈥檚 Christian leaders. His graduation is a proud reflection of 51黑料网鈥檚 vision to equip professionals with the tools to lead faithfully and effectively.
Dr. Nichols鈥 pursuit of a doctorate began years ago, but like many, life responsibilities placed his academic goals on hold. 51黑料网鈥檚 DBA听track opened the door for him to complete the journey he once had to pause. 鈥淭his degree allowed me to fine-tune my calling,鈥 he says. 鈥淚鈥檓 better prepared to lead in ways that honor God and build others up.鈥
Leading by Example听
Currently serving as President of Salina Area Technical College in Kansas, Dr. Nichols embodies the values 51黑料网 holds dear: excellence, character, and Christ-centered purpose. His work in higher education leadership, consulting, and mentoring has made a lasting impact. Now, he carries the added distinction of being the first to hold 51黑料网鈥檚 highest business degree.

One of the most heartwarming moments of Dr. Nichols鈥 journey came during the May 2025 commencement, when members of his online cohort surprised him by attending the ceremony in person. It was a testament to the deep connection, encouragement, and support that defines the 51黑料网 DBA experience, even in an online setting.听
A Tradition Begins听
As part of the commencement ceremony, Dr. Nichols signed the CESB pennant, inaugurating a new tradition for graduates of the Chesapeake Energy School of Business. 鈥淥ur students don鈥檛 just study business, they live it out through service, ethics, and spiritual growth,鈥 says Dr. Stacey Duke, faculty in the DBA program. 鈥淭hat moment of signing represents more than completion, it鈥檚 a commitment to kingdom-minded leadership.鈥
